Cotati Community Redevelopment Agency

The Cotati Community Redevelopment Agency was implemented on December 30, 1986, in accordance with the Community Redevelopment Law, Code section 33000 of the Health and Safety Code and the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970. The funding sources for the Redevelopment Agency are in the form of property tax increment revenues and Tax Allocation Bond proceeds, which are secured and serviced by property tax increment revenues. Separate funds account for Redevelopment Operations, Low and Moderate Income Housing Set-aside, Capital Projects, and Debt Service.

The goal of the Redevelopment Agency is to:

  • Eliminate blight within the Redevelopment Project Area pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan adopted December 30, 1986.
  • Promote economic development activities, which will contribute to the economic health and vitality of the City of Cotati and its citizens.
  • Rehabilitate, restore and enhance the visual and aesthetic character of the building and environment within the City of Cotati.
  • Ensure an adequate stock of low and moderate income housing.
  • Oversee Sonoma County administration of rent stabilization for low and moderate income residents living in mobile home parks.
