CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Berkemeier called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Council/Board Members present: Berkemeier, Orchard, Fox, Gilardi, Kurvers
Staff present: Shaddox, Dorch, Stewart, Hayes, Kirkpatrick, Anna, Nebb
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Consider, and possibly take action on, request for financial assistance from Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-Op Nursery (City Manager/Executive Director)
City Manager/Executive Director Shaddox gave a brief report, confirming the property on which the school is located is within the Redevelopment Project Area.
Lisa Moore reported that it is possible the Co-Op Nursery will receive $30,000-$44,000 in Proposition 10 Child Care funding if approved by the County Human Services Commission. She said she hoped the door would remain open for some Redevelopment Agency financial assistance in the future, in the event the school is able to purchase the building, for additional needed work such as a roof or expansion of the building.
In response to a request from Ms. Moore, Mayor/Chairman Berkemeier directed staff to prepare a letter from the Redevelopment Agency Board endorsing the school's loan application to Exchange Bank.
2. Award of contract for Benson Lane Storm Drain and Street Reconstruction Project (continued from special meeting of June 7, 2001) (City Engineer)
Mayor Berkemeier stated he has a conflict of interest in this matter and left the dais at 7:20 p.m.
City Manager/Executive Director Shaddox reviewed the process of getting easements executed for this project and noted that all is in order with the exception of the property at 60 Benson Lane where there are some legal issues to be resolved on the title to the property. He recommended Council award the contract to Ghilotti Brothers, deleting the portion of the contract that affects 60 Benson Lane for the present, with the provision that it will be added back when the paperwork is completed for that property.
It was moved by Kurvers, seconded by Fox, to award the contract for the Benson Lane Storm Drain and Street Reconstruction Project to Ghilotti Brothers, deleting the portion of work to be done at 60 Benson Lane, including the associated costs, with that portion and costs to be added back at a later date when legal documentation has been completed for that property.
Yes: 4 No: 0 Abstain: 1 (Berkemeier)
Mayor Berkemeier returned to the dais at 7:29 p.m.
